Weiss Jewelry From The Collectors Index

Weiss jewelry was a 1940s company and discontinued business about 1971, they were a much under rated name in the costume jewelry business but some of their jewelry was purchased from Hollywood Jewelry Co and Weiss applied their signature to it. Located in New York, NY. they created a low end line and high end line of costume jewelry and also made some high quality collectible items. Their out put was no where near Trifari and Coro but they did maintain a very good line of jewelry. The first mark used was "WEISS" in block print, later came the mark of "Weiss" in script and "Albert Weiss" or A W Co. with the W looking some what like a crown. The later mark was introduced sometime in 1951 and used by the president of the company, Albert Weiss.

Item: D-492 Weiss Black Rhinestone Butterfly and Clip Earrings
The Weiss butterfly and clip earrings are done in jappaned metal, (Black Lacquer),. The butterfly has navette and round shape black rhinestone with small red ones in the body and antenna, the clip earrings have all round black sets. The condition is very good on this vintage Weiss earring and butterfly set.

Weiss Maltese Cross with milk glass round and oval shape cabochons surrounded by topaz rhinestone. All sets are in very good condition, there is some wear to the plated metal on the back signature area that is not noticeable unless looked at very close.

Item: D-668 Weiss Marcasite and Hematite Rhinestone Clip Earrings
The Weiss clip on earrings are done in a oxidized deep gray metal, they feature a simulated black metallic hematite tear drop cabochon with rhinestone marcasite sets. They are signed on a oval plaque Weiss, all sets are very good. The photograph shows a reflection on the brilliant simulated hematite cabochon.

Weiss topaz, and amethyst mirror cabochons with deep blue round. There are red, light topaz and green rhinestone, all prong set in gold tone metal. The large picture shows spots on these but this is magnified by the size of the picture, these are eye clean sets.

The brooch and earrings are marked Weiss ©.Flat top blue rhinestone set in a silver plate metal in a leaf design. All sets are a lovely London blue color and are in good condition. There is no wear or dis-coloration on the metal except for a very small spot on the back of ear clip clasps. The scanner shows some red in the sets but there is none. The clip earrings are 1 1/2" Tall x 3/4"Wide with the brooch being 1 1/2" W x 3" L. Circa: 1960s.

Weiss lovely deep green rhinestone prong set in a gold tone metal, there is no wear on the metal finish and all rhinestone are very good. The pin has a 3/4 circle safety clasp and earrings are clip type, the earrings are signed Weiss, the pin is not signed as was often the case in their jewelry.

The brooch and clip earrings have deep red, royal amethyst rhinestone with multi lavender and green cabochons that flash the different colors. Item No C-1934 Weiss Apple Pin Red & Green rhinestone
The brooch pin is marked © Weiss on oblong plaque not the oval plaque, done in japanned or black lacquer metal with beautiful red and green rhinestone. This is not the Weiss strawberry pin which was much more commonly made of the two. The Weiss apple pin is much harder to find and especially in very good condition. The pin is 2" Wide x 2" Tall with many fine red rhinestone, all in very good condition as are the double row of green in each leaf. Weiss and it is in near mint condition.

C-1592 Weiss Goose Pin The goose pin has a faux pearl head and a large synthetic red garnet cabochon with a embedded pearlized foil square inside the cabochon. Gold plate with open wings and marked "Weiss" on the reverse side of head.The gold plate is in very good condition as are the sets. B-152 Weiss The earrings are marked Weiss on each clip, gold plated with marquis shaped cabochons of enhanced imperial jade and 1 paste emerald green rhinestone in center. The earrings are in very good condition, clip type with the gold plate being very good. This is the best quality made by Weiss and they are lovely. C-1409 Weiss Fleur De Lis Brooch A lovely brushed antique gold plate Fleur De Lis brooch pin from Weiss marked © WEISS on oval disk. Faux pearls, emerald green and red rhinestone and plated metal are in very good condition. The "Fleur De Lis" means flower of light and is the trade mark for the town of Verdun, France. The brooch pin measures 2" wide x 2 1/8" tall and has ball type safety catch with a hook for suspending from chain or cord. This picture is the actual size and condition is very good! C-1023 WEISS The Famous Weiss Christmas Tree Pin Marked WEISS on oval disc on back, this is the one! The pin is from 1960 with all rhinestone handset, frosted baguettes for candles, round for ornaments in green, red, topaz color and clear. The top is tear drop and clear. All sets are good even though the scanner shows different, the gold plating is in good condition. The last one I saw on auction went for $175.00, it measures 1 1/2" x 2 1/4". This is an original and not a re issue or reproduction "Weiss" pin. All sets are original and in very good condition the gold plate finish on the back is in fine condition. The Price: SOLD C-1023
