Whiting Davis Co. From The Collectors Index

Whiting Davis Co. started out making mesh chains and mesh purses in the last part of the 1800s and expanded into a very high quality costume jewelry line. Transfers on porcelain and early cameo type jewelry was one of their favorite lines. They created some of the most impressive line of iridescent glass jewelry. Perhaps they were best known in the jewelry industry for their output and production of some very fine Costume Jewelry produced in the 1950s copying many fine museum pieces. They still produce mesh purses and some accessories but discontinued the jewelry line in 1991. Their earlier jewelry will become even more collectible.

Whiting Davis reversed faceted in a star burst design, amber glass pin and clip earrings in gold tone metal. A well made and very pretty set in excellent condition.

Item No: D-1570 Whiting Davis Simulated Hemitite Necklace
The Whiting Davis necklace has a similated hemitite glass set in a bright rhodium finish. The set is highly reflective and it is hard to get a good picture of it. The pendant has a black metallic color to it and is really set off by the bright silver rhodium finish metal. Make sure you view the other pictures!

Item No: D-794 Whiting Davis Mesh Rope Snake Necklace Adj.
The design and the detail on this lovely un-signed Whiting Davis snake necklace is very good. It is done in goldtone metal and the snakes eyes are crystal rhinestone. The tongue protudes from its mouth and the scales are done in great detail. It has a snap over clasp that holds the necklace securely in place.

Whiting Davis black glass lily brooch or pendant "that can be worn on a neck chain" and clip earrings intaglio set. Prong set in silver tone metal with fine detail work. There is a very minor scratch on the intaglio set in the brooch that is hardly noticeable. The earrings are signed but the brooch or pendant is not. The ring is silver tone metal with fancy hematite cabochon, the ring and set show no wear on the metal or set. Marked "Whiting Davis CO." on ring shank, and the shank it is adjustable in side the crown of ring. The condition is very good. Saw-tooth bezel set hematite.

The earrings are marked Whiting Davis CO., on the clips. They are made of ceramic porcelain cabochons fired in blue and shades of brown with small flecks of gold. The condition is very good on the gold plate metal and the ceramic cabs. The clip earrings measure almost 3/4" W x 1" T.

The brooch pin and clip earrings are marked "Whiting Davis" Topaz colored rhinestone that are bezel set with saw tooth type of bezel. Textured gold plate in very good condition as are the sets. The pin is 2" wide at widest point and 3 1/2" long. The clip earrings measure 7/8" W x 1 1/4" L.

Item No: D-680 Large Whiting Davis Snake Bracelet Adj.
Whiting Davis snake bracelet with red rhinestone eyes and crystal rhinestone set in the head, all done in a gold tone metal that is in very good condition. The coil is firm and there is no wear on the metal, all sets are good. Fine detail work is seen on this bracelet with the teeth right down to the eyes and scales. The spots seen on this bracelet is the glare from the camera of the light reflection from the high polished metal.

The ceramic sets are marked "Made in Limoges France", on the ear clip is the mark "Whiting Davis CO." The earrings are clip and measure 3/4" W x 1" T. The condition is very good. Gold plate metal with saw-tooth bezel set ceramic portrait of a dark haired lady who looks to be from the "Gone with the Wind" era.

White iridescent glass in the form of tulip head, mounted in silver plate and rhodium plate metal in very good condition. The pendant is 1/2" wide at widest point and 1 1/8" long. The clip earrings measure 1/2" W x 7/8" L. with 18" neck chain.

Made in iridescence glass and plated in 14kt gold, with safety chain on bracelet. The set shows no wear on out side of bracelet and very slight on inside. The earrings, necklace and bracelet are in excellent condition. The bracelet measures 1 1/2" wide at setting and 2" x 2 1/4" inside diameter.
