First I am showing different views of this Juliana jewelry set because I can not get a true scan with the scanner or photo with the camera. The set is a Necklace which has a detachable pendant that can be worn as a brooch pin. The clip earrings come on the original card and the necklace has the original hang tag with the Juliana copyright mark.
[Juliana Set Information]
The necklace and clip earrings are gold plate metal and the sets are all prong mounted hand set except for the small pave crystals and the large center green navettes in the brooch. The neck chain is 24" long with no wear on the metal. The pendant or brooch is 1 1/2" Wide x almost 2 1/2" Tall with a depth of over 1/2". The clip earrings are 3/4" Wide x 1 1/4" Tall. All the dark and light green and crystal rhinestones have great sparkle and are in near mint condition as is the metal.
[A little Information on Juliana]
Juliana was high fashion jewelry at its best! The use of good quality sets in very sturdy gold plate metal and the design of some very good designers of which little is known about them. There are many Juliana items on the web for sale but much of it being sold is not Juliana! I have sold other pieces that looked to be in the same style but they were sold as unsigned jewelry. I could not be sure there was not a jobber or manufacturer making jewelry for Juliana, Gloria, Jeanne , Tara, and some of the other famous companies. The Juliana jewelry is equal to the high quality Weiss jewelry, and often exceeds Celebrity and Regency. All of them put out a very good line of high fashion jewelry in their higher end items that was priced on par with most all of the high end fashion jewelry, it was not cheap and often not affordable to the masses. The mystery still remains as to who Juliana really was.
[Advice]
If you are buying for beauty then Juliana jewelry would rate in the top ten percent. If you buy for signed jewelry then it is not for you as no Juliana piece has ever been found that I know of that is signed or marked with a signature in or on the metal. They only sold on cards with the mark and signature or hanging tags. Keep the tags with the jewelry when you purchase as you may never again be able to purchase it with the tags and card intact. You can't identify Juliana between some of the companies that are listed in the previous paragraph with out the tags. Some of the jewelry from other designers had the same type of findings and the same construction and used the best stones available which were used in most all Juliana jewelry. On some of their high end lines it is almost impossible to know who made this jewelry. Juliana jewelry should only be sold as Juliana if it has the hang tags or is on the card and even then Close inspection should be done on all pieces.
